I have done a few runs since my last post, between 2 and 3 miles each. Those were pretty hard runs as it was above or close to 90 degrees for each one, and I chose routes that had some steep hills and they ended up hitting me hard. The training is paying off, as I did a little over 3 miles yesterday in the heat without being destroyed. Today, the heat was substantially less intense, so I increased my distance considerably to 5.09 miles. Running in my local neighborhood gives me a better sense of how distance equates to real space covered, and this covered a lot more than I expected. I didn’t take pictures as I was constantly moving, but I’ll do so in the future. The Mount Washington community truly is beautiful and I feel honored to be able to run here.
Also, I’m happy that I achieved my fastest 5K time ever at 27:11. However, my friend who ran cross-country was able to do it in like 17 minutes, so I really have a long way to go. I’m excited with the progress I’ve made, I can really feel it and know my performance will get better with continued training. Also my friend just gave me his foam roller and it is tremendously helpful for recovering, as is doing general stretching. Taking rest days, foam rolling, and stretching are all critical practices to allow muscle recovery and greatly reduce the chances of injury. I’m also hopeful continued ingestion of healthy products, like those I promote on this website, will help me grow even faster. The proof is in the pudding, as they say, and I’ll do my best to prove that natural health practices really do make an impact on performance.
