Yesterday was the first time I had ran in a long time. I am quite an active person and some of my favorite activities include pull-ups, push-ups, high-intensity interval training, Qi Gong, Taekwondo, and walking. I used to run occasionally but fell out of it. However, yesterday I ran with some friends around Baltimore and realized again how intense and amazing running is. I probably should have given myself a day of rest before doing it again, but I was excited and wanted to hit the pavement as soon as possible. The Strava app is fantastic because it documents exactly how far and how fast you run. I love stats and having something concrete to measure performance with. Knowing where you are helps you see how you can improve and enables you to set meaningful goals. My goal for now is to run 3 miles at an 8:00/mile pace. Let’s see how fast I can get there!
